When Business Feels Still: What God Taught Me in a Hard Season of Entrepreneurship

When Business Feels Still: What God Taught Me in a Hard Season of Entrepreneurship

For the last three weeks, my business has been tested in ways I hadn’t experienced before.

The lowest sales I’ve ever seen.
Products I had to throw away.
Money I couldn’t get back.
Moments where I sat quietly and asked, “Lord, what are You doing?”

But looking back now, I realize something important:

God wasn’t just growing my business.
He was growing me.

And if you’re a Christian entrepreneur, small business owner, or someone building something God placed in your hands, I hope this encourages you too.

1. Nothing Is Impossible With God

One of the clearest lessons from this season is simple but powerful:

God provides.

Every time an expense came due, He made a way. Not always in abundance. Not always in the way I expected. But always in enough.

When you’re in business, it’s easy to believe that revenue is your source. But this season reminded me that:

God is not limited by sales, systems, or circumstances.

He is still Jehovah Jireh—the Lord who provides.

2. Being Still Is a Fight

We often think “trusting God” is passive.

But in reality, it’s a battle.

Because when things slow down, everything in you wants to:

  • Post more
  • Strive harder
  • Fix everything immediately
  • Panic quietly behind the scenes

But God kept inviting me into something different:

Rest.

Not inactivity—but surrender.

Because sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do in business is not react.

3. Obedience Matters More Than Outcomes

This was a hard one.

As entrepreneurs, we naturally measure success by results:

  • Sales
  • Growth
  • Engagement
  • Momentum

But God gently reminded me:

My job is not to produce results. My job is to be faithful.

Obedience doesn’t always look impressive. Sometimes it looks like:

  • Showing up when no one is buying
  • Continuing when it feels quiet
  • Staying consistent when motivation is gone

But heaven values faithfulness more than visibility.

4. God Is My Provider—Not My Business

This truth changed everything for me.

My business is a blessing. I love it deeply. I’m grateful for it.

But it was never meant to carry the weight of my provision.

Only God can do that.

When we place that responsibility on our business, we end up:

  • Anxious when sales drop
  • Discouraged when growth slows
  • Overwhelmed when things feel uncertain

But when we place it back in God’s hands, we find peace again.

5. Faithfulness Doesn’t Always Look Successful

This might be the hardest truth of all.

Faithfulness doesn’t always look like:

  • Viral growth
  • Constant sales
  • Visible momentum

Sometimes it looks like:

  • Quiet obedience
  • Slow seasons
  • Private prayers
  • Trusting God when nothing seems to be changing

But just because it’s not visible doesn’t mean it’s not valuable.

God is still working—even in the silence.

If You’re in a Slow or Difficult Season Right Now

Let me encourage you with this:

Don’t assume God is absent just because things feel still.

Sometimes God does His deepest work in us before He does His biggest work through us.

He is not only building your business.
He is building your faith, your character, and your trust in Him.

Final Thoughts

I’m still believing.
I’m still building.
And most importantly, I’m still trusting the One who called me here.

Because at the end of the day, success in business is not just about numbers.

It’s about obedience.
It’s about trust.
It’s about walking with God through every season—especially the quiet ones.
